Teej Celebration in Our School

The traditional festival of Teej was celebrated with glee and fervor on the school premises. The school was decorated with colourful pandals keeping in mind the festival of Teej. Girls came to school dressed in vibrant colours, splashing the school campus with rainbow hues. A Punjabi culture corner was set up. Tiny tots presented many artifacts pertaining to Punjabi culture, exhibiting various glimpses such as Trinjan,Punjabi rasoi,Akhara,Banjara and what not. Students celebrated the spirit of Teej through dances and songs. The traditional colourful costumes of the children as well as faculty added to enhance the charm and mood of the celebration. The swings were decorated beautifully with colourful flowers. The girls enjoyed riding the swings.Also they  adorned their hands with various designs of mehndi. Several stalls of eatables were setup .Children enjoyed snacks like Golgappa, Tikki, Burger, Manchurian, Samosa, Noodles, Dahi Bhalla and Ice Cream. Children and staff members savoured Kheer and Malpua. Students danced happily on the tunes of Punjabi songs, girls also recited bolian to spread happiness all around and depicted their love for culture. Sr. Vice President Jogeshwar Singh Mangat, Vice President  Harpratap Singh Brar, Roopinder kaur Brar, Manager Adarshpal Bector , Pavittarpal Singh Pangli, Ravinder Singh, Navneet Singh and other Committee Members greeted the students and lauded the efforts of the staff and the students . Mrs.Roopinder Kaur Brar in her address,blessed the  students and encouraged them to preserve the  rich Punjabi culture  and heritage of these traditional festivals . School Principal D.P. Thakur ignited students awareness regarding importance of the festivals and said ,” Such celebrations help in staying rooted to traditional culture.”
