Lohri was celebrated in Guru Nanak Model Sen.Sec.School, Doraha with tremendous joy and enthusiasm. The young jovial energetic toddlers dressed up in traditional Punjab attire were looking adorable and performed giddha and bhagra on the beats around the bonefire. Everybody paid obeisance by offering various things to the holy fire as per the rituals. The whole campus was decorated with beautiful artifacts and the students and the teachers were absorbed in festive spirit of Lohri. The students showcased their talent in dance, music and recreational activities.  Japneet Kaur IV B class threw light on the importance of this great festive. School children sang traditional songs highlighting the significance of this festival. School principal D.P.Thakur joined the students with the hope that the coming year would bring happiness in the lives of the students and teachers as well. He emphasized “Lohri festival prompts people to play a vital role in life and to keep the tradition alive in our festivities. Vice-President Harpratap Singh Brar, Roopinder Brar, Manager Adarshpal Bector, Treasurer Harjiwanpal Singh Gill, Pavittarpal Singh Pangali,  Jogeshwar Singh Mangat, Rajinder Singh Khalsa and other committee members congratulated the students and their parents on this occasion. Special D.J. arrangements were made to mark the occasion on the school premises.The programme kicked off with the distribution of sweets like Ghachak, Rewari and peanuts among the students.
