EVOLUTION OF SCHOOL
Guru Nanak National College Managing Board Doraha was registered as a society in 1971. The board was registered to commemorate the fifth centenary celebration of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji (Founder of the Sikh Religion). The object of the board was to provide affordable quality education to the people of Doraha and its surrounding villages. Members of the Guru Nanak National College Managing Board founded this school in 1983 to spread fragrance of knowledge in the rural area around.
Late. Dr. Ishwar Singh along with a galaxy of prominent social and political personalities of the area started and nursed the school and college. Now the families of the founders of the board led by Mrs. Roop Brar are furthering the cause of education in this area. What started as small institution has now grown into a school with a strength of 2020 students and 180 staff members on its rolls. The school was affiliated to CBSE , New Delhi from academic session 2011-12. The school today boasts of formidable Medical, Non Medical and Commerce streams.
The growing success of the school is attributed to the sincere and united efforts of the management & staff. The school staff is well versed with the latest teaching techniques. They are well informed, active and passionate about their profession. We use inclusive & innovative learning methods in our school. For balanced development of children, we lay emphasis on sports and cultural activities for all. The institution has successfully completed 37 fruitful years with umpteen milestones to its name.
